I don't know, the idea is good but a boycott list would only make us remember the brands to boycott, not the based alternatives. Perhaps a merchants.win would be better, where the based alternatives are promoted instead.
One of the key points of advertising is to associate a product with a brand, and if we only know what to boycott and not the alternative the whole point of this might fail.
Take internet search for instance, we all know who's biggest and most pro-commie. But who here knows the name of at least 3 based alternatives... anyone? See how this work... let's promote the alternatives instead.
I've been posting about this topic for a while, and the possibilities of alternative names has been brought up, but people seem to agree that the name needs to be more direct. "Merchants" wouldn't communicate the purpose as effectively as "Boycotts". Obviously, buycotts and other such activities would be included, but the name needs to be something that people immediately understand.
