I was going to put "worst thing to bomb in england since arianna grande". Now reading a 1000 page monster by 'Sir' John Colville aka "Jock", one of Churchill's most trusted private secretaries who very secretively (WAY against protocols) kept a diary his entire time serving the PM. "The Fringes Of Power". Fascinating, pedestrian-viewpoint of all the intrigues from 1939-1955. Churchill never formally or publicly castigated Chamberlain for his spineless appeasement but instead kept him on in a basically-useless 'advisory' role and allowed him to stay at the No 11 location til his dying days.

Really? Why is that? Why did he allow Such a shill to remain close to power?

Other than a sense of many times inordinate loyalty to those who obviously didn't DESERVE same, Churchill kept him. Even Colville stated many were mystified by his diplomatic treatment of Chamberlain. Not being argumentative, sheesh.
