In the talk, he states that DNA makes screwed up mRNA, which makes screwed up proteins. He refers to the mRNA as software which makes me think of epigenetics. But from the talk itself, he doesn't directly say that mRNA can alter DNA.
mRNA to my understanding is the instructions your ribosomes receive to manufacture proteins. So what mechanism would those instructions result in altered DNA?
His whole talk is dangerously dumbed down, with bizarre euphemisms, devoid of the specific terminology that would make the discussion worthwhile. In trying to make his talk more accessible, he ended up saying nothing at all.
