There was a box at the bottom of the donation page where you could check if you wanted to give once or every month. The box was automatically checked, and they suggested a default 1000 dollar donation, so I guess that's where people got "fooled".

Kind of makes you wonder why the default donation setting was 1000 dollars every month, maybe the web-devs were Democrats?
