Geezus, I can't keep UP. Yes, it was 'lowest common denominator' raunchy humor but I loved it! Thank you - will try to look at these over the weekend!! Thanks for the warning - sometimes the remakes exceed the original(s) but that's rarely the case - case in point (to my critic's eyes anyway) is "Brothers", a Danish original starring the mighty Ulrich Thomsen I didn't particularly care for but the HollyWeird remake was far superior - it's ALWAYS the other way around, America always feeling the need to 'dumb it down' for the masses. No WONDER I've gone almost completely to 'foreign' fare. Watched a Danish one last night starring the mighty Madds Mikkelsen that was GENIUS - Riders Of Justice.
The 'original' Mrs brown I sent you a link for is O'Carroll & the same cast of actors that had, largely, been unchanged until recently. Some of the actors are playing different characters &, if memory serves, it's played 'straight' similar to what was once called a 'kitchen sink drama'.
'Mrs brown's boys' became 'all round to Mrs Brown's' - link below for the 1st episode in the search with John Barrowman

Link to first episode of the 'original' Mrs brown's below. If it floats your boat I daresay the others are most likely on YouTube as well

So wait a second, Brendan's is the original and THEN it was remade by the Scots? Aha!!!
