What the homeowners are doing might actually be against the law too. They’re going about it the wrong way. Trying to knock on the door or force your way in isn’t helping. I would have sent them a storage fee every month they had their shit in the house. Word it like a monthly rent fee. After they don’t pay or leave, send them a 5 day pay or quit, as if they were tenants. When they don’t respond, get a lawyer to file an unlawful detainer. It still might not have worked. but at least you’re attacking them from two different angles.
The moratorium shuts that shit down real quick. You just need to go in and start living in it. It's their house, be as big of a dick you can without assaulting them. Burn their pillows, blankets, food in garbage, take the children's toys and break them, etc. They'll get the message and leave real quick with the right people in there.
