Apparently 2.8 million people die per year in the US. Are we now at 3.3 million? Or are we still at 2.8 or something close to 2.8? These numbers are the actual science I want to fucking see!!!

Death rate in the US climbed 1.29% in 2014 over 2013, but both 2019 and 2020 had a death rate increase of only 1.12%. COVID had little to no effect on the total number of dead.

Of note, the death rate in the US was dropping .96% a year 2004 to 2008. I wonder what happened in 2008 that made the death rate jump from -.96% to +1.29% in 7 years?

Good point, I bet that is part of it. I was leaning towards unfettered migration for the first big jump right after Obama was selected but was still wondering about the 2nd big spike the year Xi was selected. I think you nailed it.
