Because things are coming to a head with China. Same reason they claim it's racist to tell the truth about the Wuhan virus. They serve China, like Biden serves China. Any mention from anybody that remotely tells the truth about China, will be condemned as racist.

You should be asking why we're seeing this surge in attacks, from leftists, on Asian people. It's to push the narrative.

My two cents:

There are many asians in north america that left communist countries. Naturally, many of these people are Trump supporters. But now there is a large number of second generation asians that never had lived under communist rule. I think these are really the people that the narrative is trying to target. Its the focus now, but the objective is to cull off groups of people from the right by any means. If they can make it so only a few asians (Or other members of any group on the right) feel that they are being pushed out, over time, these people will start to attract more people. China is monitoring for asian people at Trump (and other) rallies. They have been known to show up and bully people that attend or start rallies. I believe that someone that tried to start a Tiananmen Square remembrance protest was subjected to this bullying.

The other thing I see is that the asian communities try to remain tight-nit. I am not sure how the asians see the attacks, if they just see non-asian attacking asians, or if they see a particular group. But I am sure that china will be playing the them and us narrative, and plant people to push that narrative. (The whole, "see amaricans don't like asians" thing).

There has also been asian refuges in other countries that were on an even playing ground as other refuges (many people of color). given after a few years, the asian communities turned their areas into nice ones; while the POC areas mostly remained slums.

I would imagine that insanity does not allow one to focus on multiple targets at one time.
