My girlfriend and I walked in without a mask. The hostess sat us, near the front, inside the 50% capacity bar. There were 15 people in there not wearing masks because they had drinks. The waiter came over to take our order. We gave him our order for 2 beers and he asked for my girlfriend's ID. As she handed him the ID he also said we needed to wear a mask. We got up and immediately left. I find it ridiculous and insulting we needed to wear a mask for him to walk to the bar and back when nobody else was wearing one. I don't need to go to the bar. I went there to have a nice evening, and if they will pull that crap, I will not enjoy it so we left. I can find another place thay will not say anything.

The waiter was just following orders. Your beef was with the owner. But you are free to vote with your wallet, though why anyone wants to go out these days and try and have a life is beyond me. I am boycotting everything including cutting my own hair for a fucking year so I dont have to deal with these mask mandates.

It's HIGH TIME masks are highly stigmatized. It's not enough anymore to just say "if you want to wear one, fine but don't make me". They will keep making you. We need to ridicule everyone who wears them, make them feel like absolute shit for putting one on. Point them out and embarrass them. You're not going to break the conditioning until that happens. Some people are waking up and are "over it" finally. It's not enough until Karen shuts her cunt mouth and stops the drama. Early on, I felt like I was just respecting others sensibilities by agreeing to wear a mask, even though I thought they're complete horse shit.

Lowes has been like this for me. Menards on the other hand is stupid strict about it so I won't go there if at all possible.
These rules defy logic. When you walk into a restaurant or bar most places require a mask. Now you sit down to eat or drink. So mask off! If CoVid is so contagious it doesn’t take a break for you to take a sip or eat. The whole thing is kabuki theatre for the morons. If you are vulnerable or worried the only way to prevent yourself from catching the virus is stay home.

I think the charade is what is the kicker. No mask is totally cool if you are sitting there talking with a drink in front of you. But dare to sit there with no drink and the Covid monster will get you.
The rules make no sense. Same is true at the airport. Stay six feet apart in security lanes. Sit six feet apart at your gate. Get on the plane and you are right next to someone. You have to wear a mask, but if you take it off to eat a small bag of pretzels and drink a water during your flight...no problem!
Same at the ice arena. My son is not allowed to dress in the locker room. He must show up fully dresses, minus his skates. He has to sit six feet away from his teammate in the arena lobby to put on his skates. Then they all go sit side by side on the bench for over an hour. Apparently, this virus is incredibly brilliant. It can strike only in small businesses that were forced to remain closed, but is totally unable to strike in Walmart, Costco, Home Depot...just don’t dare try to go to Pop’s local corner shop. It lurks there, in a place with just a few customers and avoids the superstores. It also will not attack you in a bar or restaurant before ten p.m. but may the lord help you at 10:05, because the virus will come for you once the clock strikes ten!
And the sheep comply. They not only comply, they LOVE their mask fashion! Look at their cute Vineyard Vine masks! Look, they have MN Viking masks! They love it. And guess what, even once they get their vaccine, they must STILL mask up! How the heck does any of this make sense?
