Been asked to give a 3-5 minute speech on this subject and there's no better group to ask than you all. Give me some good ideas and I'll include them.

So far I have 5 main points I want to hit

  1. History

  2. Monarchy vs Communism vs Fascism vs Americanism

  3. We are not the Divided States of America or the Diversified States of America we are the United States of America

  4. Collectivism vs Individualism

  5. E pluribus unum and We the People

Don’t tread on me.

Let me make my own life, define my own happiness.

Live and let live.

America is a miracle of history. An anomaly in human civilization that turned its face toward Self-ownership and turned its back on Slavery, Monarchy and Authoritarian Rule.

  1. The very origins of the idea of USA to the founding fathers
  2. The advantageous nature of capitalist policy and market
  3. The economic might we have demonstrated shows that the population works together more so than credited for. Numbers blow away any other "free state"
  4. Censorship robs individualism, and paints everything to be black and white
  5. Montage or quick definition of great conservatives throughout history

Probably 4. America was crafted on the philosophical musings of classic liberals, and I believe that set the foundation for the other points you wrote out.

Oh I'm gonna hit all 5 but I was mostly asking if anyone had any specific ideas or thoughts of their own.

Read some Ayn Rand earlier about Individualism vs Collectivism that I'm gonna talk about in that part

Individualism holds that man has inalienable rights which cannot be taken away from him by any other man, nor by any number, group or collective of other men. Therefore, each man exists by his own right and for his own sake, not for the sake of the group.

Collectivism holds that man has no rights; that his work, his body and his personality belong to the group; that the group can do with him as it pleases, in any manner it pleases, for the sake of whatever it decides to be its own welfare. Therefore, each man exists only by the permission of the group and for the sake of the group.

That's pretty good. I know you only have 5 minutes, but if you need a time filler, John Locke in his two treatises of government (where the founding fathers took Locke's inalienable rights from) crafted an argument in favor of personal property which can be expanded into America's defense of free enterprise (which another user pointed out is a good answer to "what is Americanism)

Human rights come from God, not from man. That is the main difference in philosophy between America and other nations.
