Germany fielded the first jet. Had scientists that were the precursor to our space program. Scientists there discovered fission, which was the basis of the atom bomb. But yeah, those Nazis were totally against science and intellect.
Then there is militarism. Our decision to remain armed after WW2 was under Democrat control of the government. Eisenhower, a Republican, was against amassing a large army.
