She said that it was policy for customers to wear masks

I looked her in the eye and said: I guess I'm not your customer. And walked out.

The look of disappointment on the salesman's face as he saw his commission check being shooed away by the "receptionist" was hilarious! I found a based small business nearby and now I already have the tile picked out.

Unfortunately, so many conservatives just don't get it. Despite my protests, many conservative family members refuse to stop ordering from Amazon.

22
Need4Pede 22 points ago +22 / -0

I know many conservatives who have ALL cancelled Prime or will let their own subscription expire. Most have severely dialed back purchases. However, let's be honest, there are some items nearly impossible to find unless you go big box and they are all fucking Commie central. So what do you really do? I'm in PA and I refuse to buy booze from the state run liquor stores. I go to local distilleries directly. I know many who have payed extra to shop at local appliance stores and markets of the kind. I think there is a very good population doing their part, or as much as reasonable.

17
godemperorMAGA 17 points ago +17 / -0

People are undoubtedly doing what they can. I am not perfect either. The list of woke corporations is nearly endless at this point. Still, the amount of people who cannot break at least some of their buying habits is disappointing, especially when viable alternatives exist.

I went cold turkey on Amazon and haven't ordered anything since 2020 now, I have used amazon so far this year to find a product, and then ordered it from the seller company direct instead of through amazon, and then sometime's I'll use Amazon to get a price match for stuff in stores

4
WhatUCan 4 points ago +4 / -0

Last point is important, I bought safety glasses from the company that makes them, and Amazon had them for half off, company that makes them met the price after an email with pics and links

1
Need4Pede 1 point ago +2 / -1

I've done exactly this as well. Unfortunately, Amazon is the storefront for allot of small companies. Seems a little short sighted to be honest. Id be setting up my own site ASAP if I was selling goods online. Even if I need to buy big box store in items, I at least go to the store locally since people in my community are employed there. I've also made efforts to change many brands. GOYA all the way. Funny thing is after he came out supporting Trump the GOYA shelves and were much less full ever since.

a 90pct cut in revenue is HUGE. Life isn't always black and white.

2
becky21k1 2 points ago +2 / -0

I used some rewards points to buy from Amazon, in fact I got an extra $2 thing I didn't even need so it would qualify for free shipping.

Then they took four days for it to even move. It did come when they said it would but dang eBay would throw me off if I did that all the time.

In Oregon, that would mean go hungery or feed Bezos or China money, sadly.

Good for you! Keep fighting the good fight. Millions need to stand up and do this nationwide. Our family dropped over $60 a couple days ago on a local restaurant that allows mask freedom. We only go to businesses that let us in without a mask. I keep a list of hundreds of businesses for our community to support.

I give 25% tips to servers acting normal.

76
Cesare_Borgia 76 points ago +76 / -0

My wife and I went to a restaurant yesterday where none of the staff or customers were muzzled. It was so incredibly refreshing. I haven't seen that many smiling faces in over a year.

We left a 100 percent tip with a big thanks for being normal note written on it.

43
Women4Trump2020 43 points ago +43 / -0

We do too. If they let us in without a mask with no problem, they get a great tip.

47
War_Hamster 47 points ago +47 / -0

We recently told a waitress that if she came to our table maskless it would greatly improve her tip. We were rewarded with a big smile and great service.

25
BurtMcGirt 25 points ago +25 / -0

I do the same and I make sure they know exactly why the tip is what it is. Initiated some really good conversation like this and realized way more people think like us than we imagined.

I went to our local Amish store on Friday to pick up some chicken broth and other things. No one was wearing a mask. Everyone was smiling! I got home and noticed my broth was accidentally marked for $8.56 (supposed to be $1.99) and I just shrugged it off like meh, so the Amish got a little extra that day. If it was Kroger, I'd probably head back with the receipt in tow.

Thank you for doing that! My daughter is a server in Ames, Iowa & a woman (kindergarten teacher) took a swing at my daughter, who stood up for her coworker. The server pulled her mask down, when she went to the computer to put in the food order. The customer freaked & called her the "C" word & made her cry. My daughter stood up to this lady & pointed her to the manager. The manager told her to get out & the other customers clapped as she left the restaurant. Crazy. My daughter couldn't believe it.

I'm a tile setter for several upscale builders in my area of NJ. I've been dealing with the same store and salesman for almost 10 years. I have never worn a mask into their store and nobody says a word. I know half the staff thinks covid is bullshit. I also know the entire staff won't say a word bc my accounts anually spend $250k-$500k there. They know when we walk in the door, they're making money.

It's no accident that Walmart, Amazon, etc are all very pro lockdown.

17
QuickHands 17 points ago +17 / -0

And why leftists are fighting for mask mandates so hard. They don't WANT us to be able to reward anti-muzzle businesses and punish the communists.

2

It's no accident that the latest relief bill knocks back the reporting requirement for online sellers from $20,000 to $600.

Our closest big box store is >20 miles away in a very blue city, but sometimes I just have to go there for certain things. I much prefer the old hardware/feed & seed/liquor store that's in the small town nearby. They not only don't require masks, but you can smoke in the store. There's not a lot of variety when you're looking for something, but they almost always have something that'll work and it's not overpriced. The owner also has a bunch of parrots that live in the store, which is interesting.

Closer to 1977. The town it's in never had a mask mandate. We went to sunrise service yesterday morning and the place was packed, only one mask and it was on an elderly person recovering from cancer surgery.

Do you have an Ace Hardware nearby? I haven't had anyone in any of them I've been into lately saying anything about a face diaper.

1
thebassdude 1 point ago +1 / -0

I went to an Ace last Saturday, and it's in a town with a mask mandate. I didn't wear a mask and they didn't say a word. Some customers were wearing masks, but most weren't. Nobody was hassling anybody. I live in the deep South, where we tend to be polite and not fuck around to find out.

I have noticed as of late with mask Nazis that it is a receptionist or hostess that gives the moral superiority request AND is exclusively female.

I even had a doctor's office refuse me because I wouldn't wear a mask. Receptionist said doctor wouldn't see me. I replied, "He must have failed basic microbiology and I have no confidence in him now." I left. Keep in mind there is no mask mandate in this area.

20
TruthyBrat 20 points ago +20 / -0

As someone here has suggested, try "I'm not allowed to wear a mask as a condition of my parole . . . "

People that will never understand biz and finances work these greeter level front door positions for much of their life. It literally never crosses their minds that $ which would have boosted location profits just walked out the door forever. In their minds they hyper focus and tell everybody they know that they won a battle and then bitch for years about never getting raises.

21
Late2theparty 21 points ago +21 / -0

Good! I did that to a local company here too. Standing at the counter with item in hand with my wallet out count comes around the corner and tells me I need a mask. She would gladly get the iPad and take me out the front door though. 40 bucks of merch got left on the counter and I went 2 blocks down where the guy was so happy to have me. I left two Google reviews that day to let others know who is sane.

This is how I am living in Los Angeles. I just don't do anything anymore if it requires a mask. I blame businesses for not pushing back against covid insanity. Businesses that require a mask don't get my business.

I understand why they have these polices. Fear and intimidation, with the fact that the state will destroy their business.

With that said, if I owned a brick and mortar store, I'd do the right thing. Fight against tyranny.

it might be worth playing along, until halfway through say, you know what I tried this whole mask thing out just for you guys and I don't like it, so I'm not going to wear one; and then see if they want to continue; if they do then let them get a taste of their whole commission; and THEN change your mind about doing business with people that would required people to go through what you just experienced for 15 min...

You must scan a QR code before entering a premises so they can track you like a jew in a concentration camp all the while right next door hundreds of people flow through a grocery store every minute and no one bats an eye.

Seems stores are leaving them up like those 20 year old cardboard cut out pepsi adds in a shops window.

I haven't had to say a word, but if someone says something I'll say my body, my choice. It's not a law, it's a mandate! So far I've gotten no pushback!
