IMPORTANT NOTICE: GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU WHEN YOU DO NOT FORGIVE OTHERS. JESUS HIMSELF IS VERY EXPLICIT ABOUT THIS

“For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves. When he began the reckoning, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him; and, as he could not pay, his Lord ordered him to be sold, together with his wife and children and all his possessions, and payment to be made. So the slave fell on his knees before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.’ And out of pity for him, the Lord of that slave released him and forgave him the debt. But that same slave, as he went out, came upon one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and seizing him by the throat, he said, ‘Pay what you owe.’ Then his fellow slave fell down and pleaded with him, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you.’ But he refused; then he went and threw him into prison until he would pay the debt. When his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their Lord all that had taken place. Then his Lord summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked slave! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. Should you not have had mercy on your fellow slave, as I had mercy on you?’ And in anger his Lord handed him over to be tortured until he would pay his entire debt. So my heavenly Father will also do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother or sister from your heart.” Matthew 18:23‭-‬35 NRSV https://bible.com/bible/2016/mat.18.23-35.NRSV

They have to repent before we can forgive them. Since none has, we will not.

Sinners have to be genuine and SIN NO MORE.

Once you stop sinning and repent, THEN you are welcomed back in the fold of the Church.

"How DARE you judge me, Ima keep dressing in womens clothes/fornicating with 20 people out of wedlock each year/breaking into cars" is a rebellious, non-repentant sinner. Expel them, IN SPITE of the pastor if necessary.

If we could sin no more we would not need a savior. I need God's continuous grace and mercy in my life.

What I'm talking about is aggressive sinning, REFUSAL to repent for a clear sin and demanding other Christians accept your sin without comment.

Iif one says "I drink daily and am totally wasted by 8PM every night, mind your own business fellow Christians, and I ain't gonna change, and don't you judge me", that's a rebellious sinner, not a repentful, though imperfect, sinner.

There are rapid signs of grace when you repent, even if it's not 100% conquered overnight.

One might not go to total abstinence from being sloshed every night, but one will go to a six pack only on Saturday afternoons pretty fast.

Indeed.

Apostasy and heresy are defined for a reason.

12
HappyPedeInCA 12 points ago +14 / -2

Disagree. He loved us even before we knew him and while still in sin. You can love them without them repenting.

12
Jabblemonkey1 12 points ago +12 / -0

Loving them and forgiving them are two different things...

Forgiveness without repentance is just a license to continue sinning, in the case of man's relationship to God, or getting shit on by the left because we turn the other cheek, in the case of our current political situation

1
The_Left_The 1 point ago +2 / -1

Depends on the definition of forgiveness that you use.

Forgiveness in one definition means essentially to choose to not get even. To not take personal revenge on your enemy, even if you could.

That doesn't mean that we should allow sins to continue, nor does it mean that crimes shouldn't be punished. But not because of personal vengeance, but for the good of society and the good of others.

But it also means turning eternal judgement over to God and not to try to take God's judgement for ourselves.

NotAPuma 3 points ago +4 / -1

Agreed. But I'm talking about us forgiving Communist and shit. They have to repent before seeking forgiveness.

Don’t confuse forgiveness with reconciliation. While we may forgive forgive and forgive generously, so that we do not seek “the count of Monte Cristo”-style hatred in our hearts, we do not necessarily need to reconcile with those who abused us in various ways e.g. invite them to your wedding etc,

3
newfaggot 3 points ago +3 / -0

This. You forgive the person and then they are forgotten from your life.

5
CuomoisaMassMurderer 5 points ago +5 / -0

Can't forget them when they want us dead

ProphetOfKek 6 points ago +7 / -1

I would go one step further. Inability to forgive marks you as not being in the kingdom of God to begin with.

It's love.

*along with some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases. Among them were Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons; *-Luke 8:2 .

“A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. When they could not pay, he cancelled the debt of both. Now which of them will love him more?” Simon answered, “The one, I suppose, for whom he cancelled the larger debt.” And he said to him, “You have judged rightly.” 44 Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.” And he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” Then those who were at table with him began to say among[h] themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?” And he said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” >Luke 7:41-50

.

This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one

.

There is a reason James says that "faith without works is dead" and Paul says that "if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing." It's not about doing for salvation, that has been accomplished by Christ, but what comes FROM salvation. Paul said to "examine yourself to see if you are in the faith." The milk he spoke of moving past is the "what must I do?" Christ did it. The "meat" he spoke of is what you do for the Kingdom. Not for salvation, but for Christ's kingdom in love.

Who then was the first to see the empty Tomb? One who showed great love for Christ. Mary Madeline.

And who did Christ tell to lead the Church? Peter, the greatest screw up among the Apostles, who denied him 3 times. And who wrote most of the New Testament? Paul who originally persecuted the Church.

Through these, we are given hope and Love.

We love because he first loved us. -1 John 4:19

I forgive you for your insults, friend.

Edit: Jesus also said a tree was known by its fruit. Discernment and judgement are not the same thing. I’m no man’s judge. But evil is self evident.

Judge actions, not souls.

I can't read someone else's soul. Only God can. I can judge actions. If you murder someone, for example, I can judge it as bad. That would strongly imply that you're bad, but that's not totally for me to decide. Likewise, it is the responsibility of those with the ability to do so to attempt to bring some degree of worldly justice for the betterment of the perpetrator and the people they could cause damages to.

You're being downvoted probably because your wording was fairly hostile, but you're on the right track. A lot of people have difficulty differentiating the two.

Jesus also calls us to love all, including our enemies. Modern cucked Christians interpret that in the most basic way as "being nice to them", but in reality, it's about wanting the best for them; I can express neighborly love to a murderer by fighting their attempts to murder, as murder is not in their best interest.

Lets take an example. Bill Clinton is almost certainly a pedophile and a rapist. His actions in that regards are abhorrent; I judge them as thoroughly evil. He continues to enact evil against the world regularly; that said, I am not without sin either. That doesn't mean the actions are equal, or the severity is equal, but I will not attempt to judge his soul. Out of neighborly love for him, I sincerely hope he is removed from the ability to perform evil actions as fast as possible. I hope he repents and turns to God, and I would imagine that if he has not already imprisonment and punishment may be the best thing for him (and others).

We are quite literally called to judge and hold others accountable for their actions, just as others are supposed to hold us accountable.

Judge lest not he be judged is by far the most misconstrued out of context verse in the entire Bible.

CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +1 / -0

"Pass judgment?" That refers to eternity.

Killing commies ruining our Country has nothing to do with passing judgment.

"Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out later." And "may God have mercy on my enemies, because. I surely won't."

We are capable of forgiving.

We probably would forgive.

We have forgiven.

Does anybody remember

"GET THIS 'PEDE A COAT"

from t_d?

We will forgive I'm sure if those that wish to do us harm begin to understand what we are saying. Just as what happened to Jesus.

Once their is understanding their can be forgiveness.

CuomoisaMassMurderer 3 points ago +3 / -0

They do not understand. They do not relent.

Unforgiveness hurts us. "Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful." — Luke 6:36 KJV I don't completely understand everything the Lord calls on us to do, I just know that SO MUCH has been forgiven me, and God has and continues to show so much Mercy to me, it seems contrary to return that LOVE and mercy with unforgiveness and hate towards other human beings. We are in a Fight for all Living Breathing Human Beings. EVIL wants Us to hate and destroy each other. That's been It's purpose from the beginning. EVIL hates Us, because God Loves Us.

  • learn how to fight spiritually as well as physically. 1st, know who we are in Christ Jesus, and the authority and power we have in His Name, and by the Power of His Blood. Christ is Risen! ♥
