Well this is an Asian tea type place but I get the sentiment. I could go find Thai tea mix, sweetened condensed milk and buy starch balls to hydrate for less than half the price. These people just don't want to stay in business.

They could use sell something more useful like shoes or hardware, but there's a skill involved in knowing sizes and materials
The next store you encounter like this, tell them not only are you not coming back, but you're going to tell everyone you know, how much they suck
