It will shoot, but the increased pressure will cycle the action harder that it was manufactured to handle. My understanding is that it can lead to a failure.
There are a few videos with people much more informed than I am breaking it down on YouTube, even bust out the high speed cameras. Seems you can get an adjustable gas plug, then pretty much shoot anything safely. You can set up your gun to just have enough gas to cycle, but actually reduce the kickback to make it smoother shooting than out of the box.
