I don't think Christianity or any religion is required for valuing freedom. The rise of the MAGA movement has not been evangelicals joining the conservatives, they were already there. It has been the libertarian sector moving to the right that has been the main source of new voters. It has been the realignment of liberal/conservative into globalism/nationalism. People inherently value freedom, they don't need religion to tell them that.
