I’m almost certain it’s his SS detail that’s not letting him ride that far. That would be a security nightmare, taking a predictable route like that on a bike. The likely compromise was to let him ride the last couple blocks, but now he looks like a dipshit, lol.

He should’ve just stayed in the Suburban and said fuck the bike thing, but that doesn’t earn as many virtue points.

Cabinet members don't get SS details, this was likely private security or Capital Police.

Does the Secretary of Transportation really get a Secret Service detail?

Yes. It’s probably rational to do so when he’s pushing such bullshit policy proposals as well.

The capital has troops on every corner. Also, no one cares about the transportation secretary. Its not like his name is Seth Rich

Imagine being the detail that has to watch this guy have random hookups in the john at the bus station

Take the seat off his bike maybe that will get him going.

It is only three miles, and it is mostly flat.

To be fair he would probably get his bike stolen and beat up

Also, no fenders in DC. Clearly not a biker.

We used to run from Fort Myer to the Vietnam Memorial, follow the river through Foggy Bottom, Georgetown, back across the river, through Rosslyn & back by the Iwo Jima, back up cardiac hill. I think it was around 5-6 miles and if I were to try and drive that same route it would take 2 or 3 hours at that time of morning. While running that path was maybe 30 to 35 minutes. It is truly a place that you can get around faster on foot and bicycle thus making more sense for these people to use other forms of travel if they choose or are able. Fuck this dumbass for faking it when it would take nothing to actually be principled.🤷‍♂️

I had a buddy used to ride the C&O towpath to work. He said winter time was crazy - everything frozen, quiet, and slippery AF. I visited him once and it was amazing how much faster riding that path into the capitol was. I was blown away how many people didn't use it, but access was shitty - we had to hike down dirt trails to get to the path so i understand why people in office clothes would not be into it. Once you're on it though, it is chill and well paved and takes you right into the heart of everything, hell they even had a bike bridge to Arlington.

Wearing a mask while cycling is super stupid. A longer ride means more people would see the stupidity.

C'mon man, give him a break. He's probably got bleeding anal warts which make a bicycle seat uncomfortable.
