We used to run from Fort Myer to the Vietnam Memorial, follow the river through Foggy Bottom, Georgetown, back across the river, through Rosslyn & back by the Iwo Jima, back up cardiac hill. I think it was around 5-6 miles and if I were to try and drive that same route it would take 2 or 3 hours at that time of morning. While running that path was maybe 30 to 35 minutes. It is truly a place that you can get around faster on foot and bicycle thus making more sense for these people to use other forms of travel if they choose or are able. Fuck this dumbass for faking it when it would take nothing to actually be principled.🤷‍♂️

I had a buddy used to ride the C&O towpath to work. He said winter time was crazy - everything frozen, quiet, and slippery AF. I visited him once and it was amazing how much faster riding that path into the capitol was. I was blown away how many people didn't use it, but access was shitty - we had to hike down dirt trails to get to the path so i understand why people in office clothes would not be into it. Once you're on it though, it is chill and well paved and takes you right into the heart of everything, hell they even had a bike bridge to Arlington.
