I drive a $15,000 Hyundai compact with more room than a Prius, that gets 43mpg average, and it came with a 100k mile warranty. Plus, I won't have to spend $3k on new batteries in 7 years.

And yes, the savings has allowed my gun safe to become engorged.

Electric cars are super niche. Hybrids or plain turboed small engines with efficient transmissions are where it's at.

12 yrs, 130k miles and no new battery yet, knock on wood. Have saved a ton of money over those years. Toyota is great.

meh, I love my '98 Ford Ranger stick-shift. Thing's older than I am and still runs like a clock.
