You'd think everyone would be able to have a place they can sleep that's safe and sanitary to sleep in, but this isn't the case.
I've never slept in a homeless shelter, but I've heard plenty of horror stories about how unsafe and unclean they are. I'd rather sleep on a park bench or a sidewalk, although I'm sure just as equally unsafe. This one homeless guy told me that kicking and pissing on homeless was a common thing taking place. Another one told me he was almost beat to death with a hammer while sleeping in a bush.
Which is why people should be able to sleep in their cars if they have one.
First off, no homeless people are going to be able to pay $130 a night for hotels. They can't pay $1600 a month for an apartment. It's hard for many of them to "get a job" if they lost their IDs on the streets. And they have no free access to showers anywhere.
Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy. Ezekiel 16:49
Like him or not Tim Pool broke this down really good one day, most of these people want to be homeless, mostly because of mental health and addiction, there is a way bigger problem then "America treating its homeless poorly"
I saw a homeless guy masterbating openly in the middle of the day on Hollywood blvd. Can't do that shit in a shelter...
Not to mention shelters will have a no drug policy and most homeless folks are willing to give up their high.
