Why can't they issue voter ID?
How is it such a hot button issue? They already have the database, it's literally ready to go. For the country who touts its democracy as the most important feature it's laughable that it's such a farce as to be stolen so easily.
BTW i am an absentee voter and voted for Trump in 16 & 20 so please don't sink me if you think i'm having a pop. I'm as angry as the rest of you, just non-resident and find it strange watching all this unfold through the lens of my computer screen...
The simple answer is because the Constitution does not allow it. The Constitution clearly states that state legislators are in charge of determining the rules of an election and therefore they are the ones that are required to implement voter ID laws. Congress and VP are the ones who verify that there was no fraud and that the election results aren't grossly misstated. That's when pence screwed up
