I appreciate the well reasoned response. However there is no "opt out" option, the government and culture has opted you in. "minorities" have objective advantage when being considered for jobs, college admission, loans, grading, promotion, freedom of speech, research freedom, etc.
The fact is that already a huge number of democrats, recognizing there is a minority privilege, are implementing the equivalent of the one drop rule to game the system: 50/50 black/white is "black", 25/75 black/white is "black", with Warren, 1/1024 native American is native american.
Conservatives having principles, have preferred to not judge/collect/categorize/treat people different according to race. they have ceded the battle field.
So the option is the identify as white, even though you likely have other ethnicities, and be discriminated against or help to break their system.
It is clever, but it is also a lie. A lie may grant you a temporary advantage, but in the long term, it is a liability.
