Canuck here, what is a provisional vote? As in, if a person is unable to present an acceptable id BUT can submit a provisional ballot, what does that mean of identification of said person? Is that person still voting without id ... or something else?

I'm an American and I'm not really sure. I think I just have to sign a piece of paper with the correct name and address.

Provisional ballot are put in a sealed envelope and not counted on election day. You have a period of time to prove your identity to the county auditor, if you do then the ballot is unsealed and counted. If not, the ballot is destroyed/shredded and not counted.

Sauce: 30 years of being a poll worker in Iowa

So they wait a few days then say "Oh they came back and showed their IDs while y'all weren't here. I super duper saw it and everything" Then they unseal the "provisional ballots" that appeared in the night and bingo, instant fraudulent election.

This is exactly the short of shit that was going on during the 2020 election.

I'm not aware of any proof that occured.

In Ohio, Provisional means it does not get counted till 10 days after the election after vetting.

I think if the election is not close for races they don't even count them.

It means that they claim to be a registered voter but can’t prove it with identification. Theoretically, their ballot is not counted unless it is matched up with an actual registered voter after the election. It is a major fraud channel, enabling proxy voting and other fuckery. The law should be that you must present identification when voting, period.

Aha! That is what that sounded like. Thank you for the confirmation.

You can still fill out a ballot but you have to show ID in some way shape or form for them to count it (e-mail it?, come back in?, not sure exactly how probably varies by state)
