You know that they are compiling DNA on people with these tests. But then again, 23andMe, and Ancestry.com are the FaceBook of DNA cataloging...people volunteering their DNA to them and paying for it, and they routinely allow the police into their databases WITHOUT A WARRANT to run suspect DNA. Read the fine print. They own your DNA signature.

I'll never use any of them, as I've no dire need to know that I'm .027% Scottish, etc.

Also, what is fucked up is that even if you NEVER use one of these DNA ancestry sites, the police can use their database to find Familiar DNA...say from a 3rd cousin, who DID send theirs in and is in their catalog, and use THAT information to identify evidence DNA, then use THAT familiar match as Probably Cause to obtain a search warrant and force you to give your DNA.

Basically Illegal Search and Seizure by proxy.
