Pros: you can predict most of what happens, see anythnig about food shortages, power outages and stuff like that. well then you just have to buy a generator and some canned food. Either it happens as described or it won't, in any case it won't hurt being prepared.
Cons: None really because neither the vaccine or the masks will protect you from getting the flu, you either get the flu or you won't, suffer a few days then it's over, you're healthy again. Just like for any regular disease. What's there to loose by not taking the vaccine.
And finally, I'm not saying the vaccine means a guaranteed death, but what if? and why take it when it won't make a difference anyway, that makes no sense. Remember: "If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it"
