I'm of the thinking that Coca-Cola doesn't care one bit how much we boycott them. They sell their shit in every country on this planet. What do they care if a couple hundred million Americans stop buying their products? They can still reach a billions of customers elsewhere. These corporations have us by the balls.
What's happening here is the result of one or two INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS, like Blackrock (who owns ~15% of Coca-Cola stock) pressuring the BOD on the personal political agenda of the guy who runs Blackrock, who is a bored, self entitled, fabulously wealthy man named Larry Fink. No kidding "Fink".
The BOD does what Blackrock says because 15% is the biggest voting block in the annual meetings and they can easily be voted out since most of the other investors just vote by proxy. The BOD only cares about themselves, then they pressure the execs of Coca-Cola to do Fink's bidding and the execs would rather keep their jobs than be fired and blacklisted from every other major corporation that Blackrock owns a controlling share of...
