An old TV, made before smart appliances were a thing, and an old flip phone, which remains powered off most of the time. I even keep my mic disconnected from my computer unless I'm actively using it, and assume it is compromised.
I'm getting ready to switch to a sat phone, now that they're affordable and somewhat reliable. I can use the laptop for anything else a smartphone does. Also, sat phones will still work after an EMP or something similar, at least in theory.
Do you have a TV or cell phone?

Kudos.

So long as the constellation is still functioning, yup, they are a pretty good option.
Thanks for the validation. I'm still early into my homework on the subject.
Make sure you store it in a properly shielded container if you’re planning to have it work after an EMP as it will fry otherwise.
No kidding?
What constitutes proper shielding? Lead?
