QUESTION 21 e on the background check form states: Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?
Yes, alcohol.
Wells that just peachy then, not like alcohol is not a drug and a the precursor for violence when compared to many other substances that affect the nervous system.
I know its not the same but most states do have a definition of a drunkard or habitual user of alcohol that does make you ineligible to own a firearm. I get that ever for pot is too strict by comparison but states do recognize alcohol as a legal drug. If the federal drug schedule was amended to remove pot they would treat it the same as alcohol.
Yeah get that, but the problem being is that it isn't, where addiction/alcoholism is acknowledged this way the same rules don't apply to weed which is my problem, coz it's still a federal crime but not state. Tired of hypocrisy and double standards, rules for thee but not for me. I know you want make sure the info is clearly understood, I get that, problem for me is the anti weed pro alcohol fetal syndrome supporters, they will sink 6ltrs of beer, alcohol, make violent threats left right n centre then proceed to tell others how enlightened and morally superior they are because they don't do drugs.
To the ignoramuses out there, do you drink alcohol from one degree or another? Occasionally or every weekend?
YES?
Then your a filthy junkie who needs to be placed into a drug rehabilitation program to protect the rest of us from alcoholic junkies like yourselves.
But but but excuses, your a junkie. You sink untold bottles of wine or beer or spirits, you are a filthy drug addict.
Your right I'm just making sure the facts are out there. And I get that fact that in a state where it's 3 dwi/dui in say 5 years to lose your gun rights doesn't come close to the you have a mmj card so no guns for you. I agree its not fair, I just think in general people overly push the but but alcohol comparison. If alcohol was schedule 3 (or is it schedule 1, its what ever the "worst" is ) like pot currently is it wouldn't make the no guns for pot users any fairer. And I think pushing the alcohol point makes it too easy for haters to dismiss pot users as jealous or bitter.
