Colorado does this with medicinal cards and CCW licenses, but they don't have access to dispensary records. I'd have to see some actual evidence that NY has warrantless access to these in order to believe this claim.

Drugs and state legal drugs are an enforcement grey area -- the feds could clamp down at any time because they already have the legal authority.

yet.... and it's not like those dispensaries will ever delete those records.

I actually don't expect that these dispensaries keep any more data than they have to. Keep in mind that what these guys are doing is a hard federal felony and they're one executive policy decision away from being acted against. Both them and all their customers. They are even more distrustful of the government than us. (Their retard liberal customer base, on the other hand...)

I don't disagree with you though. I have nothing against pot but I advise gun owners not to mess with the stuff out of self preservation.

I would expect them to keep all the data they are given, which is an ID scan with a date stamp, possibly more. From what it sounds like entry is not associated with a sale. I am not sure what you mean by 'they', it seems all the smaller scale 'mom and pop' or smaller local places are being bought up by 'entities' where we have no idea who the owners are.
