I get it, this was wrong. But what worries me more is people being completely ok wearing a mask so long as they get to fly. Pretty soon they will be completely ok with showing a vaccine passport to eat at Chili's
They’re not okay with it as much as caught in a chokepoint where they have virtuallyno other option AND even the slightest civil disobedience protest is treated as terrorism.
There are plenty of alternatives for eating out, but not many for travel to get you across the country. If you have a sick relative or you travel for work you have no real alternative aside from maybe grabbing a one way rental at significant time and financial expense for longer hauls. If there was an airline that was mask free or had a mask free section I would happily pay a premium for it, but it doesn't exist.
I'm in a place that is pretty much wide open and aside from maybe going to a government building a mask hasn't been needed for drinks, eating out or shopping and in spite of the media most of the rest of the country can't wait to join us. The airlines are heavily regulated and have gotten massive bailouts, all of them, from the federal government so they'll do whatever BS the government wants.
They also seem to think a mask will protect them from what they think is a very deadly virus in a plane full of people. They also seem to think it's fine getting on a plane in the first place with or without one.
Sat next to a woman coughing maskless from TN to NV last year, didn't catch anything...sat next to her on the way back too! Your chance of catching it is pretty fucking low let alone actually dying from it
Joe Chi Minh has mandated masks on airlines, which are regulated by the federal government. The airlines don't have a choice. The only choice is by the cabin crew, and the other passengers. Don't ask, don't tell would be appropriate here. Sounds like one Spirit steward didn't get the message on that, and, well, here we are.
