Not to mention the mountain heaps of cons tied to renting apartments. Things break, maintenance isn't going to be there to fix it. Air quality issues, mold, dust, etc. If you get bed bugs or dust mites good luck, there's no easy solutions. Utility bills to keep track of. If you live in a mobile home subdivision you have to meticulously take care of your lawn and appearances.
Me? I live day to day, debt free, no bills except a gym membership for showers and a phone bill for gps and data. Everything about my life is better than a renter, and the only thing homeowners have on me is assets that will get more valuable over time. But while they invest in assets and play the waiting game, I'm out having a better time than them. Spending the prime of my life enjoying it instead of waiting for retirement, when I'm too old to fuckin walk around freely.
You can take a shit in public bathrooms lol. It's the reason you want to park in places that are open 24 hours. I've never had an issue except one time and I peed in a water jug. No big deal. You can shower every day at gyms and truck stops.
I like to shit shower shave in my home, not be one of those brush my teeth in the truck stop types. It's not the worst, it's just not the best. And where do you keep your valuables? Your guns? It seems unsafe and unsanitary tbh, why not have a home you can live in? That you can relax in when you're not working or w/e it is you do?
You can buy a shower at a truck stop for $12 and get a private bathroom to shave in. Just shave once every couple weeks, grow the beard out so you don't look like a pussy to women. When you say stuff like it's not the worst not the best, you're getting blindsided by the actual weight of the argument, because yeah, it's a bit nice to have a private bathroom within walking distance every morning as opposed to a drive to the gym or truck stop. And yeah, you have to pay $12 to shave. But let's put all of this on the correct scales because let's say it takes 10 minutes of your day to get there, 6 miles of driving, and a $12 cost.
"All that for a shower?" you murmer.
But think about it. If you break it down the other way paying $1800 rent bills with utilities, that's about $70 a day. So let's break that down. $70 is about 3 hours worth of labor.
$12 is a half an hour. That's an extra 2 1/2 extra hours of labor per day that you have to work in order to get to walk to the bathroom instead of drive. That's 16-17 hours a week extra. It's insane when you break it down.
I just like to take a shit in private mainly, but actually am female myself. It's not about that tho it's just like for me having a home that is safe is inportant. I want it to remain as a sanctuary for me not a vehicle.
Also you mentioned maintenance, and automaintence seems like it would be more crucial and harder to get serviced than apartment maintenance. And even beyond maintenance and bathrooming, I've explained to you twice that storage would be difficult, I mean sure there's safety deposit boxes but I want a space to be free to use my stuff in peace too.
Plus the fact that cars lose value immediately and you need a garage or shelter for it. If not you have to pay to park in most situations so that seems like a major annoyance. And if you're not using a car shelter it's dirty all the time, plus taggers and punks. Just doesn't seem like good longterm. Best of luck to you tho.
Oh my, well since you made an effort to explain I will help you through a bit of these roadblocks, that aren't really placed by anyone but yourself.
First you just have to find your "go to bathrooms." These bathrooms include stalls that lock with sinks in them. No one will see you when you take a shit, and on top of that nobody really cares that much either way. You just have to get accustomed to it like anything else.
The maintenance argument falls flat when you begin to realize just how much extra cash you save living this way. You can afford other people to maintain your vehicle. Just keep your tires pumped up, check your fluids, and get an oil chance once every 3 months. Piece of cake. If your car breaks completely down, it's no big deal. Buy another one with cash. It will barely put a dent in your wallet since you have no bills.
You don't need a garage for vehicles lol, and they're not going to lose value because you'll be buying older ones. You don't need a 2020 5 star safety rated vehicle. The sky won't fall on your head if you buy a bit older.
As far as mischievous people messing with you, location is key. You want to travel in upscale areas away from dirty cities. But you don't want to be in the boonies either. Just use your common sense.
As far as all your stuff. You'd soon realize after you part with most of it that you don't need any of it. You won't need a bunch of stuff when you're out partying everyday having the time of your life.
Sell your cabinets, dressers, coffee tables, and all the other crap you won't be needing and get out there and start enjoying your life.
