This was known, Fauci wrote a paper in 2015 on how masks spread and caused disease during the spanish flu pandemic in the 1800's. He knew full well when he eventually endorsed masks they would contribute to the case numbers.

But since he funded the gain of function research that created covid nothing surprises me with Fauci.
