There are three modes of being: in the world (everyday life), being in hell (perhaps permanent mode of being if you're a homeless crackhead) or in heaven (possible momentarily in life, but is mostly understood as attainable only in the hereafter).

These people are in hell. If you're a nihilist or just an idiot, you live emotion to emotion.

Without ever exercising logic.

Imagine that.

I know. They are ruled by their emotions and by their blind devotion to political ideology, which frames their assumptions, beliefs, and responses. And from a Christian perspective, they are indeed living "in hell" right now because they are separated from the knowledge of God and the spiritual life that faith brings. As C. S. Lewis says, when those who reject God arrive in hell, they will recognize that they have been there all along.
