Yeah, despite a plethora of specialty close-quarters caliber AR options, there's bound to be some clueless libtard g-men using .223. Plenty of civilians and conservatives have an overblown appreciation for .223 too. It's only real advantage is in military logistics. If you're going to be humping and spraying tens of thousands of rounds per casualty anyway, they might as well be the lightest cheapest thing that isn't completely worthless. .223 was intended as a compromise on a "real" rifle round, a point that's forgotten or lost on most. Law enforcement and every civilian should really be buying a better caliber for anything besides target practice.
