Dewine is the perfect example of a low-T repug politician. Fucking loser.

Come on, Ohio .. you're better than to have this lil cocksucker as your guvner.

84
bobobob 84 points ago +84 / -0

You're not a Republican if you want to place restrictions on the second amendment. Dewine should go join the Democrat party.

27
BasedTemplar 27 points ago +27 / -0

More popular on that side of the isle that’s for sure.

Is he any better than Kasich who was there before? What's with all these RINOs man?

15

Yea, better, but only marginally so.

You're just not an American or an empathic human if you try to do that

14
bobobob 14 points ago +14 / -0

You're right. Trying to make laws to circumvent the founding document of our country is fundamentally unamerican and we shouldn't accept it from any party.

9
NOTWOKE 9 points ago +9 / -0

I'll one up you. Your not AMERICAN if you want restrictions on the second amendment. Dewine is swamp. He is a card carrying member of the uniparty.

No party, and certainly no politician, is reliable when protecting 2A.

There's rampant corruption in some areas (mostly big cities, but small towns have their share of problems), and things will get pretty bad in a certain area before people go scorched earth and permanently get rid of whole crops of politicians (often with accompanying jail time), and things will quiet down and be normal for a while. But we're far too patient. We need to start going scorched earth at the first signs, instead of waiting for things to get bad.

Blystone. He's got my vote right now. 100% freedom type of guy. That's what we need. Everywhere.

I'll vote for him in the primary.

By voting?

4
BasedTemplar 4 points ago +15 / -11

Yes by voting, you Neanderthal.

12
NataliesFeet 12 points ago +20 / -8

How'd that work out for Trump, genius? Voting doesn't matter anymore. You can still cast your vote, fine. But if the establishment really needs a candidate to win, they will win. All the hullabaloo in GA, where I live, is a farce so thst kemp can cover his tracks. GA will remain blue until the establishment wants a RINO elected. The uniparty had figured out how to rig every election after rigging 2016, and getting better at it in 2018, and perfecting it in 2020. Threy aren't getting worse at it, genius, they will continue to improve. This USA is a banana republic, trump exposed it, while you think you're gonna change the system by voting. You're naive.

7
bobobob 7 points ago +7 / -0

Why are there not protests to get GA to perform a paper audit of the 2020 election? Why aren't your elected employee's phones ringing off the hook?

The people who pulled off the scam need to protect all of the states from inspection. All we need is ONE paper audit in ONE of the disputed states to expose the whole 2020 election sham!

3
NataliesFeet 3 points ago +3 / -0

Indeed and agreed.

6
ModernKnight 6 points ago +7 / -1

Ohio is not Georgia, Trump won bigly in Ohio. Our systems have problems in a few localities, but the vast majority are secure, as the 2020 election showed. We had no 3AM drops, we had no massive shifts, we had no sudden spikes. And those areas which are suspect are watched much more closely than in many other states, because we know they have a history of fraud. Cleveland and Cinci have been cleaned up significantly in the past few decades. We are doing our part to make sure elections are fair.

4
NataliesFeet 4 points ago +5 / -1

Blue gold yellow will come for you when it matters. China owns hollywood, and Hollywood targeted georgia. They will target ohio when it matters. This is a very calculated game by evil people that are very wealthy and intelligent.

6
traveler776 6 points ago +9 / -3

It matters in some states still

8
NataliesFeet 8 points ago +14 / -6

Lol not the 5 or 6 swing states. Get it thru your head, our enemies are in control until we remove them by force. Voting doesn't matter. Now you understand the steady decline of our country. We are too fat lazy and comfortable to fight back, AND THEY KNOW IT. Trump bailed because he didn't want his family murdered. You will too.

5
traveler776 5 points ago +6 / -1

Well I don't have kids and my older family all took the vaccine so they may be dying soon anyway I guess if they do I'll have good reason to fight to the death

IncorrecttAtLife 4 points ago +4 / -0

Just to chime in a bit. The election was only rigged because the left outnumbered us in the polling station 100:1. That's why they were able to kick Republican challengers out, count ballots in the middle of the night, connect dominion machines to the internet, etc. Now imagine if it were the other way round?? Ever thought about that.

It's the people who count the votes that matter, not the voters.

The Dems perfected their game alright. They found out the right will at most whine and bitch on the internet and probably not get their asses to do anything. They probably figured we weren't going to bother volunteering as poll counters and that's where all the mess happened. Maybe that's the major reason no?

2
Cacciali_Via 2 points ago +2 / -0

The fraud was mostly in black precincts. Are you moving to a ghetto to work the polls?

0
Deathtoallmarxists2 0 points ago +4 / -4

For some people on here the conditioning just runs too deep, they just can’t accept the fact that the USA no longer exists and there is no “voting”. It’s hilarious and pathetic at the same time watching them come to grips with it.

0
NataliesFeet 0 points ago +3 / -3

I'm trying to help them understand. It is a dark dystopian reality that these hopium addicts can't wrap their head around.

11

-3

8

1
LLegendary 1 point ago +1 / -0

"“What Stand Your Ground does, it takes away the victims’ right to their day in court. You get to be the judge and the jury without any type of repercussions for it,” said Rep. Juanita Brent, (D) Cleveland."

The "victim" is the person who put the person who shot them into a situation where shooting them was the reasonable course of action.

18
quell2 18 points ago +18 / -0

This is the point I always argue. I intend to get through my life without killing anyone, but that decision's taken away from me the second someone forces their way into my home to threaten my safety and violate my sanctity. That's their decision. If they don't want to get shot, don't break into a place you haven't been invited into.

Dewine is being challenged in the upcoming primary. He sees his chances at reelection becoming slimmer and slimmer due to his penchant for unconstitutional orders. He thinks this will absolve him of his bad decisions with conservative voters. He's wrong. He's a RINO and conservative voters despise him.

But...it did start a really great conversation.

2
Romanfun61 2 points ago +2 / -0

Now for my question. If federal agents for law enforcement try to force entry into your home to confiscate your firearms in violation of the Constitution can you STAND YOUR GROUND in defense from those individuals that are violating the law?

4
ShadowyMrBlank 4 points ago +4 / -0

There was one town in Ohio (can't remember offhand) that said they would arrest any federal agents who tried any of that bullshit.

2
Romanfun61 2 points ago +2 / -0

I imagine there's a little Community like that in every state and it seems like more and more are getting on that bandwagon

2
MBMadigan [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Great question

2
FreedomFan1975 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is, of course, great news, but it's old. He signed it a while ago, and in fact our Stand Your Ground bill goes into effect today - so Ohioans, now if someone attacks you on the street where you otherwise have a legal right to be, you don't have to cower in a corner and hide or hope he goes away. You can now shoot his sorry ass where he stands and rid the world of one more thug.

1
MBMadigan [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

1
MBMadigan [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

And...? Is it generating conversation? Is it making our team more aware of the utter hypocrisy with these RINOS throwing a last second Hail Mary to get votes next year? We need to call it out where we see it. Sure it’s a couple months old. I didn’t see it until yesterday and judging from others, they didn’t either. But it does not make it less newsworthy. It’s more important that our team stays informed with facts vs. the Left’s side leading with feelings.

2
Cyberpunkd 2 points ago +2 / -0

I see it was signed back then, but it actually goes into effect today. OP probably should've linked to a more recent story. All the ones I've read today put a spin on it like this is some anit-black law. Pro tip: don't rob and assault people, and you won't get shot. Wtf is stand your ground bill

0
JohnCocktoastin 0 points ago +8 / -8

I haven't read the bill to see if it is anything like Florida's.

Honestly, we probably don't need "stand your ground." Because frankly, if you can safely retreat, then your life isn't really in danger. This is the least helpful part of those types of laws.

What Florida does that all states ought to do is shift the burden to the prosecution to be able to even file charges. They have to show by the preponderance of the evidence that the use of force was unlawful before they can even arrest and charge you. This is excellent, and prevents malicious out of control Soros prosecutors from politically persecuting citizens. If Wisconsin had Florida's laws, Kyle Rittenhouse would never have been arrested and charged. Because they couldn't overcome that burden.

8
BasedTemplar 8 points ago +10 / -2

Honestly, we probably don't need "stand your ground." Because frankly, if you can safely retreat, then your life isn't really in danger

Now I’ve read some dumb shit in my time, but this? This is right up there in the top ten.

-1
JohnCocktoastin -1 points ago +5 / -6

Have you even studied the history of the duty to retreat going back hundreds of years into the common law? I'm not talking about at your house. Which has never been the case under common law. I'm talking about in public.

What you are talking about has far more implications than some criminal approaching you and you killing him. It also legalizes "who's dick is bigger" contests where people get into altercations that should have been de-escalated, and the person that lives doesn't get charged. We don't want a society like that.

I stand by it. If you can reasonably and safely get away, your life is not in danger. So you don't get to use deadly force just because you don't like the acts of another.

I'll forgive your ignorance on this issue because perhaps you just didn't consider the full scope of the implications this brings. And if you did, then you must want a wild west society where option 1 is shoot to kill when you could have just walked away.

0
BasedTemplar 0 points ago +1 / -1

I stand by it. If you can reasonably and safely get away, your life is not in danger.

It's just a moronic take. There's really nothing else to say about it.

0
JohnCocktoastin 0 points ago +3 / -3

What is moronic is thinking that at the slightest threat, you can end someone’s life. That is moronic.

2
BasedTemplar 2 points ago +3 / -1

I never said that, I disagree with the idea that you cannot be in danger if you can "retreat". I'm certain that victims of school shootings, men on the battlefield, etc. disagree.

What is moronic is thinking that at the slightest threat, you can end someone’s life. That is moronic.

Also, this is not how it works in real life, people who carry have common sense, that's why they're carrying.

3
JohnCocktoastin 3 points ago +3 / -0

Give me a scenario that would be illegal before, but now it is legal and we should all be thankful that it is. Because I cannot, for the life of me, come up with one. The hundreds of years old law will allow you to shoot the guy sticking you up while you’re walking out of the store. It will allow you to shoot a school shooter. Nobody has said anything that wouldn’t already have been legally permissible that required this change. That includes you.

1
JohnCocktoastin 1 point ago +3 / -2

Which is precisely all the common sense the prior to this current law which had been in effect for hundreds of years without issue ever required. When the hell has this ever been a problem? It hasn’t. The problem has been with prosecutorial abuse of law abiding citizens who use force lawfully to defend themselves. Expanding this solves none of that. But it does now legalize some pretty egregious pissing contest behavior that results in death. Apparently that’s ok with you. It isn’t with me.

1
Cacciali_Via 1 point ago +1 / -0

Where are these wild west shootouts you fantasize about?

Give an example of one that was previously illegal which would now be legal.

6
Gnometard 6 points ago +8 / -2

"Just give up your shit!"

Fuck you you commie fucking piece of fucking shit

2
JohnCocktoastin 2 points ago +5 / -3

Everyone downvoting me is full on retard thinking that I am saying that you have to surrender to criminals. You don't. You're the full on retards who can only think of a single example of an armed stickup. Never mind that that scenario might not present a reasonable and safe option to retreat. So you'd be well within your rights to use deadly force without changing the law. You don't need this law to lawfully defend yourself from this scenario.

Now think about being in a bar parking lot. Drunk dumbass comes up running his mouth as you are getting into your car. Instead of getting in and leaving, you decide to start chirping back at this guy. The next thing you know, shit hits the fan, you deploy deadly force, and this doofus is dead. Changing hundreds of years of law to not require you to attempt to leave that situation before resorting to force is not only unnecessary, but unwise. You shouldn't get to skirt out of there with nothing. Human life does mean something. We don't take life for trivial purposes.

The current law DOES NOT require you to surrender to criminals, dipshits. If we all passed Florida's laws shifting the burden to the prosecution before even arresting and charging anyone, we would never ever need to worry about this in 99.99% of situations.

3
traveler776 3 points ago +4 / -1

No one should have to make a decision about whether they can safely retreat when threatened, those seconds spent analyzing could cost you your life

1
JohnCocktoastin 1 point ago +5 / -4

Again, the legal standard is reasonably and safely. You won't be stuck in a scenario where you are pondering if you can. This is a fake news argument that pretends that somehow they'll grey area you into some ninja warrior obstacle escape course with a cliff jump and rappel and since you didn't do that, you are now fucked. It does not work this way. It will be intuitively obvious if you could have safely and reasonably retreated. There is no grey in this standard. 100 out of 100 times, a guy with a gun within 5 feet from you demanding your wallet, there was no way to safely and reasonably retreat from that threat. This is sky is falling level hysteria about a problem that doesn't exist.

1
Cacciali_Via 1 point ago +1 / -0

You seem to be hung up on the idea that nobody but you can comprehend your reasoning. You are wrong. We get it, we just disagree.

Nobody here is hysterical other than you based on you insulting anyone who dares disagree.

What you may be neglecting to consider is that if getting up in peoples faces and insulting them results in widespread deaths, people will adapt their behavior and show more respect. Gunfights in the old west were very rare.

0
FormerGraveheart 0 points ago +2 / -2

Unless we change the legal standard to allow standing your ground, commie.

2
JohnCocktoastin 2 points ago +3 / -1

You do realize that standing your ground changes nothing except legalizes preventable killings right? And being against that doesn’t make me a commie. Being for that makes you a dumbass.

What is smart is placing the burden of proof on the prosecutor as Florida does to prove by clear and convincing evidence that the use of force was unlawful. There is zero need to expand the current use of force criteria. What is necessary is to protect citizens rights to use it from prosecutorial abuse.

-1
FormerGraveheart -1 points ago +1 / -2

Criminals deserve to die. So do their apologists.
