As much as we joke about making sammiches, my wife can do things with day-old artisanal bread and left-over barbecue from the weekend that makes me never want to eat a sandwich from a restaurant ever again. I'm not talking pb&j or baloney and mustard; I'm talking sauteed onions, mushrooms, and jalapenos with good cheese on butter toasted bread with seasoned smoked meat; they are truly creations from heaven. Good sammich making is underrated, imo.
