I went to CO and went to a dispensary, came back and a year later I went to buy a gun in my home state, I was held up. Don't know if this is what did it, but never been held up before.
If my memory serves me right a background can take up to 3 days (NICS). On the 4th day day if nothing comes back that against you the dealer can sell you the firearm by default. The NICS system isn’t that great and gets bogged down.

Held up? As in the background check took longer than usual or they wouldn’t let you purchase?
I was delayed. Ended up getting it, just took way longer, like four days longer.
