They are punishing a state and its businesses over election integrity laws while signing a TV agreement with a country know for atrocious crimes against humanity that corrupt elections. They chose money and China over the country that has loved and supported them for generations.

China over America happened. Financial decisions to punish the country they depend on required payout. China provided protections. A boycott would have changed their decision until China paid them off
