Check mate. Fantastic trolling. Jesus level, turn the other cheek level of trolling.
You heathens who don't know. Turn the other cheek isn't showing submission, it's trolling someone into a corner making them look bad so they back down. It's 4d chess.
Haha! I love your sense of humor, fellow pede. Happy to share knowledge.
The key thing everyone misses is a difference in culture from that day. Clean and Unclean activities. The right hand was for clean activities like shaking hands, eating, crafting,...etc. The left hand was for wiping your ass so anything done with that hand was "Unclean." This is pre-soap, pre-indoor plumbing, and pre-toilet paper; so you can guess why.
Expand this to the action of striking someone's cheek from that day and age. The assaulter would use the back of their right hand to strike your right cheek (because you're facing each other). When you turn your left cheek tempting them to strike again, you are forcing them to use their "Unclean" hand which would make their action "Unclean." This puts them in an awkward dilemma. If they strike you again, they acknowledge their action is "Unclean" and thus inappropriate by societies standards. If they don't strike you, they are backing down from you thus losing the confrontation.
Jesus' "turn the other cheek" advice is to return violence or any other attack with mental acuity that forces the offender into a lose-lose situation so you win no matter what. Either action, has you come out the winner in the eyes of those around you. Just as Dark Discourse has done.
Ooo I didn’t know that cultural nuance. I’m benefiting from this reply as well. Cultural history is so important for understanding the depth of biblical theology.

I'll explain if some one cares; just ask.
Lay it on me. I'm black, so I don't understand subtleties or nuance.
