I would teach him how to shoot pool and play poker. The time he would be spending in school will be the time he practices these two games. After a few years of reading the right books, analyzing hands, working on stroke mechanics drills, he will already be talented enough to make the same money a college graduate makes.

Why not teach him engineering instead? Go buy a $600 car, a toolset, and tell him he needs to throw the entire thing away in standard garbage bins.
Personally my kid would become a roadie like me if I had one. I play poker and shoot pool for a living and that would be his life. If he can hustle doing something else like play guitar and sing that's cool too, but that's on him.
I'd settle down if I had a kid, at a campground with a $300/month rate. He'd have his own tree hammock to sleep in.
