I would teach him how to shoot pool and play poker. The time he would be spending in school will be the time he practices these two games. After a few years of reading the right books, analyzing hands, working on stroke mechanics drills, he will already be talented enough to make the same money a college graduate makes.

Good: Yep- Keeping children as far away as possible from idiotic public (and most private school) systems.
Better: Yep - teaching practical skills, like the ones you mention.
Best: Disciplining and immersing the mind in the TRUTH and BEAUTY of western civilization. It has SO much to teach us about how to love God, family and our neighbors as well as using our minds and skills to become our best selves. Some curriculum like this.
