If it's a DC-10, you likely missed the drogue...which means it's a KC-10 and we're seeing a refueling operation. I cannot positively ID with this photo, however, I DID clip it, zoom and look at the poorly resolved lead aircraft...which DOES have a bulge at the back that might just be consistent with the V-stab-mounted third engine on the KC-10.
So that's my take. I've plugged the KC-10 many a time long ago, early '80s. Phantom Aircrew. Won't go more particular, since it's a very small pond.
