The biggest issue from my perspective is that right now in America there're a lot of jobs available, but no one to work them, but instead of trying to encourage the population to work them, doing public awareness campaigns, we would rather import them.
It is almost like government trying to mess with the economic system results in the misallocation of resources that eventually results in people complaining about a shortage of certain occupations when they need them.

Even here in Australia where we don't have universal university qualifaction requirements we have an abundance of useless degrees.
Also a shortage of bricklayers, electricians, plumbers, scaffolders, carpenter, plant operators, etc.
