He supports it because it hurts his competitors.

Think the effect of walmart on ma-&-pa businesses/hometown business/small business. Amazon is insane-rich, a share of every sale, whether they fulfil it or not. In many cases 30%. So basically, it hurts Walmart because they have costs amazon does not, like insuring random public shoppers & keeping every store open. It hurts smaller shopping sites like overstock etc.

This post right here. He's made his money. Now he wants to shut the door behind him.

Of course he is: more companies will leave the US, can use cheaper labor, sell cheaper to amazon and amazon can bolster its profit margin. Simple. Amazon doesn't pay taxes anyways.

You can rest assured that Democrats have told them that there will be sufficient loopholes in the tax code for them to reduce their "supposed" tax rates.

There is a reason that in the 4 years Yellen was out of government she made $7.2 million in speeches. All of these corporations are part of money laundering.

The Obamas got millions from Netflix and Susan Rice was appointed to their board.

You look at all the money that is spent abroad--billions of dollars that really never make its way to the people. In that way, China is right. They go in, they manage the infrastructure projects (in return for something) but the people benefit directly as opposed to the US that throws money at these countries for no good reason and somehow, some of the money makes its way back to some of our politicians.

He supports it because he doesn't pay it, the customers do. And it hurts his smaller competition

Shouldn’t we collect taxes for all those years Amazon didn’t pay taxes?

Didn't I hear somewhere that Amazon does't pay taxes?

No one is stopping him from donating his money to whatever cause he wants, same with any other business owner or employee. We don't need the fucking government to decide where our hard earned money is spent. Period.

It hurts competitors. Amazon is involved in all sorts of industries now, so if one industry is hurt, it benefits them in the long run because some will drop off while the other parts of Amazon prop up that part.

Amazon got into groceries because everyone needs groceries. It didn't matter when they were losing money on that because selling products was supplying them with enough money to keep it going. Now if everything except groceries get hurt, then Amazon still makes money. Most people use websites, so AWS is likely a product you use whether you pay for it or not.

Amazon is almost everywhere. It would die naturally if literally everything died out at once, but it won't happen, so they want the next best thing.

Gotta watch the weaseling.

He supports higher “US Corporate” tax rates, probably because Amazon doesn’t pay any taxes in the US. So it’ll hit everybody but Amazon, or other corporations who are smart enough to incorporate in the Caymans and do their tax liability swaps in Ireland.
