I just watched some of the videos. I'm a high school teacher so I'm used to leftist garbage. I got my school district reprimanded by the state a few years ago because the admins told us to vote against school choice. Anyway I digress.
The videos are absolutely pointless. The language was cringe as fuck but the curriculum changes they proposed could have been thought up in 5 minutes.
One video spent 30 minutes explaining how math classes should get students to explain many different incorrect answers that could be arrived at. This already exists. It's called the Singapore model. Another video was literally just about grouping students of different backgrounds together.. but it pushed in a bunch of filler leftist jargon. "BIPOCS learn best in mixed environments."
Another "educator" proposed changing the names in example problems to reflect diverse names - something teachers have been doing since the 80s. If you stripped away the identity politics, you could boil it down to a single paragraph.
These people were clearly just including SJW crap so they could get paid doing "new" professional training hours. It was just so damn lazy. I guess I should be pleased to see the insanity is just the vocabulary they're using but I can't believe how incredibly lazy these leftists are at even propaganda.
Math by it's very nature demands accuracy. Can't balance an equation otherwise, which is the most basic concept. Only explanation for this BS is that they think black people are too stupid.
Education is a huge, festering bubble filled with at least a half million too many jobs. Administrators, college education professors, corrupt unions, useless teachers - this is partially just leftists trying to prove their jobs are even necessary when they're not
The best teachers I know seem to be the ones who are negatively impacted the most by all the edicts from above. The people who don't care simply do as little as possible and collect their check. Thanks for all that you are doing. Still, I can't imagine being a student in today's world and taking any of this seriously.
