I worked a while at a state univ. Incompetent people, especially ones that did damage, were almost always promoted to do-nothing jobs where they couldn't break anything.
Government officials should all have the same accountability level as people in the private sector. If you suck at what you do, you get fired. This is especially so for unelected bureaucrats.
The biggest takeaway here is that we have WAY too many federal employees. Let's get that number down to 4,000. There's our national debt increase right there.
