NASA, like the USA, used to mean something. It stood for exceptionalism. It stood for achieving the unachievable. It stood for engineering excellence. A group of fearless, smart and tough men getting shit done.

As a child I had such admiration for both, which has turned to embarrassment. Both have been reduced to serving as a feed trough for the world’s undeserving leeches.
