1950 is the year they are looking forward to from 1914. The two scantily-clad, unusual-headwear people are from 1950, and they're looking at pictures of people in 1914.

Ah yes that makes way more sense as to what the '1950' meant haha. I was just clarifying that it wasn't "1950 art" like the title implied
