DeSantis is like Trump with more political savvy and dare I say bigger balls. Also, his decisions seem to look better in hindsight. Hopefully he knows how to not surround himself with swamp monsters.

In addition to what everyone else said about cheating, Ron DeSantis has greatly improved his public speaking skills (and hopefully his campaigning skills) since 2018.
He also made a couple of unforced errors during the 2018 gubernatorial campaign that were gleefully pounced on by the media. One in particular was his use of the phrase "monkey this up" - actually a common phrase in parts of the South which does NOT have any racial connotations. Not quite. I can't imagine a man with balls big enough to drag em across both aisles of the political swamp except Trump. DeSantis was still a lifelong politician. He stepped back instead of challenge Marco Rubio for example in 2016.
Trump came in bitch slapped Jeb and humilated every GOP establishment candidate. He had to learn the ropes. Both sides conspired to limit the influence he had but he still managed to do a heck of a lot inside a rigged system. Here's to him going ham in 2024.... if the people don't rise before that.
