I remember hearing the term “affirmative action” & asking my dad what it meant. He explained it to me. I asked why some people would think it’s a bad thing & he asked me, “when you get on a plane, do you care more about what color the pilot’s skin is or how well they can fly that plane?” I can’t for the life of me understand why this simple common sense question hasn’t put an end to this shit show policy yet.
It's needed to end for decades. My grandpa had some things to say from his own job on the matter from back in the 80's. And it just gets worse and we still hear about how we need to "do more". It's not just UA, it is now every company in corporate America. I work in a Fortune 500 and hear about this horseshit at least once a week and we have taken to hiring exclusively black people to positions intended to teach us all about race. WTF does a black person automatically know about race relations just because they are paranoid about being under attack and have black skin? Can I claim to be oppressed and therefore an expert and get one of those cushy high paying jobs reserved for blacks only? What do I need to do for that privilege?
You had a good father but I'm pretty sure he said, " . . . how well HE can fly the plane" as the Soviet-style gender neutral ugliness of using "they" for "him" had not yet caught on.
No, he said “they”, because we weren’t retarded & I knew there is more than one pilot in the cockpit.
I agree with you that boys & men are being targeted for abuse and that this is one major factor of what’s absolutely wrecking everything for everyone in the world.
Don’t let the left’s pronoun bullshit ruin the way people actually speak. If you go so far as to avoid the normal just to stick it to the left, you’re not winning.
